FIN 140 Unit 3

Lab C – Grapefruit – water talk

It’s not that I CAN’T go to the library, it’s that I can’t go today, and so I looked for something from the internet. Here is the instruction I selected. I was able to do this one in my head, in my apartment, which is often the best way for me to work, for a variety of reasons that I won’t go into here.

I love the idea of being water, I love that this piece is about two (or more) sentient beings being connected both before and after they evaporate. I chose the jug that I use to water my plants and the water bowl that I fill for my dog to drink from. He is very old (14), especially for a large dog, and I have been preparing myself for his “evaporation”.

For the past five years especially when I have needed consistency the most, he has been my constant companion, who helps to keep my grounded.

The only thing, I hope that we don’t evaporate “together”, as water talk suggests. Other than that, this thought experiment appeals to my Aquarius (water bearer) soul.

You are water
I’m water
you say, “that’s me, there, that one”
I say, “that’s me there, that one”
